Interviews under the MTI
scheme in UK– 23/03/2011
Inauguration ceremony for
Interviews of the selected candidates for MTI scheme-UK was held on 23rd
Wednesday at GMOA conference room with the distinguished presence of Dr. Nick
Beeching, Associate International Director (South Asia), Royal College of
Physicians, London, Dr. T R C Ruberu, Secretary, Ministry of Health, Prof Rezvi
Sheriff, The Director, PGIM, Dr Padma Gunarathne, The President, Sri Lankan
College of Physicians.
Seventeen candidates were
interviewed by Dr Beeching and the panel of interviewers comprising Dr Ananda
Wijewickrama, Dr Panduka Karunanayake, Dr Harsha Sathishchandra & Dr Priyankara
Jayawardana at the Professional Center. Selected candidates will be offered
employment and training opportunities in UK for a period of two years with the
facilitation of Royal College of Physicians London, UK.
As this initial step has been
an unprecedented success, it was decided to plan the next interview to be held
in September 2011.
The membership is invited to
prepare themselves for the next session of interviews and to gain the maximum
benefit from the scheme.
