The Singapore National Eye
Centre Officials were preferred Board Certified
Ophthalmologists with MD and either MRCS (Glas) or MRCS (Edin).
This will also provide an
opportunity for doctors who
have completed their Post Graduate training in Sri Lanka to
complete their mandatory overseas training programme
attached to the Singapore Eye Centre.
Furthermore, it was transpired that the Singapore Government
would initiate a decentralised pilot project to screen its
growing diabetic population. Thus, they wish to employ a few
competent Sri Lankan doctors of the non specialist category
to perform ophthalmology screening at the peripheral centres
in Singapore. Senior House Officers and Medical Officers
